Pulleys model 2024, technical specification
The pulleys are manufactured on CNC machines with hundredths precision, the surface is treated with anodizing and galvanic zinc. 90% of the pulley is made of duralumin for machining, the rest are stainless steel and steel components. Two high-speed steel bearings of ZZ type are used in the pulleys for long-term load. Their service life is several years. They can withstand up to 12,000 rpm, which in conversion is about 120 km pulling speed under long term load. Their purchase price is on average 2 EUR/1piece. The pulleys are waterproof (not watertight) and due to the materials used they are indestructible. The only two consumable components are the aforementioned bearings and the top protective rubber ring, which can be replaced in 15 seconds and is currently priced at 2 EUR. It serves as a safety feature in case of impact with the pulley.
The uniqueness of these pulleys is that only the middle part of the pulley rotates, this is not noticeable at all as the pulley is extremely quiet, moreover, after the bait is passed through the endless reel the pulley stops almost immediately due to the optimized rolling resistance. This is necessary to prevent loops from forming on the rope and tangling it when pulling. The other components remain static, as does the entire pulley. The pulley is without much glare, most of it is matte black, which makes it essentially invisible.
The pulleys‘ passability has been tested on rabbit skin or foxtail in hunting breeds. In classic coursing, a tassel with a rise is used. The pulleys have also been tested for training of birds of prey. Experience shows that they are applicable for multiple activities with a guarantee of great safety and reliability.
One funny experience from a race I organized in Chlumec nad Cidlinou for variety. It was run in high grass. In that case, a piece of lane has to be cut out for pulling the rope, so that the grass doesn’t wind up on the rope, which creates problems during winding. Before the race I instructed a team member to do this, with the pulleys already in place, so he knew what route to mow. He was instructed to always pull the pulley before the mowing tractor, cut the grass and put the pulley back in the same place. He, out of convenience, tried to mow around the pulley without pulling it out. One time he failed and ran over the pulley. The pulley flew out of the ground and had only three light scratches on it, the 12mm steel tip had bent and the mower had broken the mower blade and the entire bottom cover.
I have been developing pulleys for ten years, there are no better pulleys in Europe. I have also sold to the USA and if shipping wasn’t so expensive there was interest from Australia. Now the new generation pulleys, model 2024, are on sale and have been through over a year of testing and trials. They are a bit better again. The innovation is in the very low cable routing, they are slightly lower. In addition, they come in two versions, an endless winch version (90mm overall height, 120mm diameter) and a finite winch version (115mm overall height, 120mm diameter).
